Welcome to the annual Peel Forest January Sire Sale

This is the third year we will offer the English Warnham and Woburn cross 3yr old sire stags. The line-up this year are animals we have bred for the first time and include new blood lines and some outcrosses.

We are very pleased with the velvet stags for sale with an average is 7.15kg, a big lift from previous years. We have retained a late cut 3yr old who cut 9kg. We would also like to congratulate Hamish Smith on cutting 9.3kg off his 4yr old son of Walton, up from 6.8kg in last year’s sale.

We are very pleased to have won the 4yr section of the South Canterbury/North Otago velvet competition with another son of Walton called Zebulon. These English stags certainly ‘go on’ and their ability to pass on these velvet traits is very strong as can be seen with exceptional velvet EBV’s.

The trophy 3yr old stags, as you will see, are for sale by private treaty this year. This means they are for sale as you read this. They can be viewed anytime, just give me a call. You are most welcome to come for a closer look. There certainly are some interesting animals this year with beam and structure better than we have ever had. Video’s and photos will be updated regularly to our website as they progress. All details, pedigrees and stats ect can be viewed on the PFE website also.

The sale will take place at the original complex next to the office by the homestead. There will be an opportunity to view the trophy stags for sale that are being sold by private treaty. This will happen after the auction of the velvet stags.

Viewing of these stags will occur at 12pm on 10th January, down in the main deershed. Normal T’s and C’s will apply. If you would like to purchase any of the stags you simply ‘state your claim’ to the office administrator in the shed.
