Peel Forest Estate have a brand new deer shed which has a state of the art custom built crush, large freezers to store our velvet harvest, weigh scales and auto-drafting, a surgery for out ET programmes and a place to congregate for the staff.
At Peel forest Estate all our deer have electronic ear tags. We use Gallagher equipment to record every facet of the work that happens here, weather its animal health, weights, grouping, pedigree analysis, trait and activity recording as well as electronic drafting with the Gallagher HR5. We have a very accurate data collection system which we then analyse on either the Gallagher APS office software, AgHub or HerdMASTER.
Recently, we have adopted the new AgHub app. This app allows all on farm staff to monitor and administer stock movements on a digital map, straight from their smart phone or tablet, as well as task management, feeding programs and pastoral management.
